James (Jim) Roberts

LOT 2540 Board Member

Retired since 2005, Jim is active in the Greenville First Christian Church in Greenville, IL where he serves as a small group leader, substitute teacher and home visitation worker. Before his retirement, Jim worked for forty plus years in the Industrial Uniform Laundry & Manufacturing Industry. Jim practiced a basic business philosophy that was “hands on” to lead by example and to treat others with openness, fairness, and honesty.

Jim is quick to point out that his second birthday, as a child of God, took place in 1972. Since that day, he has worked for Jesus in various ministry capacities including serving as Deacon and Elder in two other churches before coming to his current church.

Jim married his high school sweetheart, Carolyn, in 1959. They were blessed with four beautiful children: a daughter, Pam (deceased), and sons, Tim, Tom, & Marty (yes, our Marty!).

In Jim’s words – “My greatest hope and prayer is to be obedient to the Lord’s Greatest Commandments (Math. 22:37-39). I believe that serving in LOT 2540 Ministry allows us to be involved in an active way to obey those Greatest Commandments – to care for the poor and show love for our neighbor. My desire is to serve The Lord in whatever way He enables me, and give Him all glory, honor, and praise. Also I want to assist my son in his “labor of love” to do this ministry, and care for his family.”
